About Carlsbad
Carlsbad graces the beautiful shoreline of the Pacific Oceean in the northern part of San Diego County. With seven miles of clean, uncrowded sandy beaches, Carlsbad is the perfect destination for swimming, fishing, sunbathing, windsurfing and surfing. Along the beach bluffs, near the village of shops, boutiques and cozy hotels, is the Carlsbad Seawall. This popular walkway is perfect for a nice stroll or jog along the beach, with views reaching as far south as La Jolla and as far north as Camp Pendleton (on a clear day). Nature lovers will enjoy the three lagoons in the area, perfect for bird watching.
In addition to the beaches, this coastal town offers many wonderful attractions and yearly festivals. One of the most recent additions to the city is Legoland, an amusement park perfect for those with small children. The Aviara Golf Course and Resort, praised by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine as one of the best resort courses in America, is located in the center of Carlsbad overlooking the Batquitos Lagoon with views of the Pacific Ocean. Another championship course, at La Costa, is home of the World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship.
